"Yad Lehachlama" ® (Reach to Recovery)

"Yad Lehachalma"® is a national service volunteer group comprised of hundreds of women who have coped with breast cancer and assist new breast cancer patients through the stages of detection, coping and life routine, as well as those with metastatic breast cancer. "Yad Lehachalma"® volunteers are assigned to each patient according to similar demographic statistics, language and the type of treatment, and provide support, information and accompaniment to women diagnosed with breast cancer. They undergo professional training and can direct the new patients to the appropriate professionals and ICA activities on topics such as rights, support groups, survivors’ workshops, wig fitting and more. The ICA Rehabilitation and Support Department accompanies these volunteers throughout the year, and organizes continuing education courses, professional meetings and team building days. The "Yad Lehachalma"® activity is coordinated by Limor Shraga , the ICA’s Rehabilitation and Support Department Coordinator. The annual conference of "Yad Lehachalma"® was held in early September 2023. Beilinson Medical Center, 'How to Preserve Love in Middle Age' by Lena Kurtz Almog , ICA Sex Therapist, 'Nutrition: Credibility in Advertising by Ira Tolchin , ICA Health Promotion Specialist and 'How Much Does Happiness Weigh?' by Tami Miller . Lectures for Companies and Organizations As part of its healthy lifestyle and cancer risk reduction activity, the ICA runs lectures in companies, organizations and institutions on 'Breast Cancer – early detection and reduced risk of cancer', free of charge. This activity was held online this year, including a lecture by a breast care nurse on behalf of the ICA and a personal story by a "Yad Lehachalma"® volunteer. =The volunteers also participated in the annual lectures for students in physiotherapy schools in the various medical centers. This year, the volunteers who participated in the lectures and told their personal story were Hadar Baron, Tali Kahana, Yael Bracha, Gilat Barown, Hagit Meir, Levana Cohen, Vivi Kanowitz, Yonina Kontes, Liron Ben Ami, Hava Laufer, Yulia Tsodikas, Karola Bernstein, Sarah Brom, Michal Barkai, Pnina Beck , and Tova Bayala .

New Service: Oncological Rehabilitation for Cancer Survivors

The ICA's oncological rehabilitation offers an extensive array for survivors, incorporating the physical and mental aspects of rehabilitation and includes custom tailed physical activity led by an expert rehab physiotherapist.
