Volunteers and Local Fundraising Events
Thousands of active ICA volunteers are dispersed throughout the country in some 70 branches. ICA's devoted and energetic volunteers initiate numerous activities year-round to enhance the well-being of cancer patients, survivors and their families, and to promote ICA objectives. These activities include conferences, seminars, lectures, information booths and community health promotion initiatives, support and assistance projects for patients and survivors, resource recruitment and a variety of performances and special events, with proceeds dedicated to supporting the fight against cancer. The volunteers work closely with the municipal authorities, especially the education departments as well as schools and kindergartens. The ICA Branches Department is headed by Shir Buttel-Tzur . Cancer Awareness Activities and Events Throughout the year, the ICA marks cancer awareness days and months around the most common cancer diseases. Lectures, Seminars, Conferences and Health Promotion Fairs With volunteers manning information booths and distributing materials on prevention and early detection. World Cancer Day Volunteer-led events in schools and ICA branches to raise awareness to among youth on cancer prevention, adopting a healthy life style and avoiding risk factors. Supporting Patients In referral to relevant professionals and volunteer activity in ICA branches. ‘Sunsmart’® An annual awareness campaign during skin cancer awareness week for early detection of skin cancer and information about how to minimize the harmful effects of the sun.

Distributing Gift Packages in Oncology Units across the Country Since the Israel-Hamas War broke, volunteers visited oncology units across the country to support patients being treated there, and remind them that the ICA is there to address their needs.
