• Dr. Michael Goldenshluger , Sheba Medical Center, will be traveling for a one-year clinical fellowship in Colorectal Surgery in Cleveland, Ohio, 1.7.23-30.8.24 • Dr. Ronen Shtuf , Sheba Medical Center, will be traveling for a two-year advanced study program in basic and translational research on Novel Cancer Vaccines, the use of Adoptive Cell Therapy for Melanoma and treatment and prevention of immune related adverse events following cancer immunotherapy, Minnesota, 7.23-7.25. • Dr. Tali Shafat Faingelrent , Soroka Medical Center, will be traveling for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship position in the field of Infectious Diseases of Cancer Patients in Houston, Texas, 7.23-7.25. • Dr. Kamil Malshy , Rambam Medical Campus, will be traveling for a two-year combined research and clinical fellowship in Uro-oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery, in the U.S., 1.7.23-30.6.25 Germany Berlin The Friends of the ICA in Berlin, led by Mr. Michael Zehden , continue their tireless fundraising efforts in support of the Spark of Hope® Project, a unique initiative that trains students and tutors to help child cancer patients, who miss school due to treatments, makeup their schoolwork. Thanks to this project, the tutors help the children stay up-to-date with their studies and at their classmates’ level despite the challenge of being sick (For more information about the Hope for Life® project, see the Rehabilitation & Welfare chapter). Munich For more than a decade, the Friends of the ICA in Munich, led by the dedicated Ms. Anita Kaminski , have been charting impressive achievements in changing the lives of people diagnosed with cancer. Frankfurt The Friends of the ICA in Frankfurt, under the dedicated leadership of Ms. Orna Knoch , continue to show their

support of the ICA by organizing events for the benefit of cancer patients in Israel. The Friends of the ICA in Frankfurt continue to raise donations for the Hope for Life® project, which helps hundreds of children joining it each year. (For more information about the Spark of Hope® project, see the Rehabilitation & Welfare chapter). United Kingdom The London Friends of ICA, headed by the enthusiastic Mrs. Vered Aaron , continue to show their unyielding support by coordinating events aimed at assisting cancer patients in Israel. FICA UK in conjunction with Mr. Jonathan Corman , is funding a research on "the role of cardiac extracellular vesicles in tumor growth" by Prof. Jonathan Leor from Tel Aviv University, in memory of Mr. Corman's late father, Charles Corman , one of the founding members of FICA UK. The Netherlands The Friends of the ICA in the Netherlands, led by the dedicated Mr. Robert Drake , continue to help in funding research grants that may provide hope to cancer patients in Israel and around the world. This year, FICA in the Netherlands supported a research on "The role of CDC20 in the cellular response to mitotic checkpoint inhibitors" by Prof. Uri Ben-David from Tel Aviv University. Switzerland The Friends of the ICA in Switzerland, led by the dedicated Dr. Ronald Fried , continue to pursue funding to support the ICA cancer research grants that may provide hope to cancer patients in Israel and around the world. In 2023, the Friends of the ICA in Switzerland supported scientist Dr. Zvi Yaari from the Hebrew University, for his research on "Developing Optical Biosensors for Real-Time Monitoring of Breast Cancer."
