Research
Research Grants awarded by Keren Hayesod:
The Israel Cancer Association plays a key role in supporting research and prevention of cancer diseases in Israel. Each year, the ICA awards dozens of research fellowships to physicians in medical centers and researchers in universities and research institutes across the country. The ICA supports basic, clinical and epidemiological research, as well as researches examining the psycho-social aspects of cancer and coping patterns of cancer patients and their families. The ICA Research Committee, headed by Prof. Shai Izraeli , former Director of the Hemato-Oncology Division at Schneider Children's Hospital in Petach Tikvah, is comprised of the finest researchers and clinicians in Israel's research and medical institutions. The committee is coordinated by Lili Biller-Lev , ICA Deputy CEO and Committees and Projects Director.
Prof. Yehudit Bergman from the Hebrew University, for her research on 'Intestinal microbiota-induced DNA methylation changes affect cancer.' Prof. Zvi Granot from the Hebrew University, for his research on 'Targeting NETosis as a Novel Mode of Immunotherapy.' Prof. Merav Ben David from Assuta Medical Center, for her research on 'Development of a screening tool for prediction of long-term arm morbidity following breast cancer surgeries and treatments.' Prof. Zisk Rony, Yaffa (Rachel) from the Hebrew University, for her research on 'Home Care Challenges Faced by Parents of Pediatric Oncology Patients.'
