Engagement with Community & Industry

One of Tel-Hai's core values is maintaining ties with its surrounding communities and ecosystem. We wish to instill in our students a sense of belonging and re sponsibility towards the Galilee, so that they can later seamlessly blend into the community and into the work force. To this end, the college creates many diverse opportunities for students to be socially proactive, gain hands on experience in local work places, and become an integral part of local communities. Throughout their studies, our students create connections and ac tively impact their environment, both socially and pro fessionally. Opportunities to engage with the community and with industry: ö Student and young adult leadership programs ö Vibrant student communities ö Practicum programs of different disciplines ö Student volunteer programs within the community ö Internship programs in surrounding industries ö Tel-Hai's Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center ö Employment guidance Here are a few examples of the connections made by our students: ö Young women politicians: a social initiative to encourage and empower young women interested in the political arena, through face-to-face meetings with women serving in public offices. ö Exploring solutions to environmental and sustainability issues for Ziv Hospital, Zefat, through an international hackathon for students. ö The restoration and rehabilitation of the Ein Zahav stream in Kiryat Shmona, by students and local youth. ö Volunteering to assist in making technology more accessible for the local elderly population.

Welfare ö Distribution of food parcels to students in quarantine on weekends. ö Financial assistance to students in need (flexible payment plans, subsidized tutoring, ect.) ö Loaning laptops and subsidizing the purchase of computers for students with limited access to facilities. ö Opening accounts at local supermarkets for students experiencing financial difficulties. ö Over 700 scholarships are given annually to undergraduate students (for excellence, social activism, or financial aid)
