TRAINING FOR MALE AND FEMALE NURSES

The Nurse as a Significant Figure in Detecting Child Victims of Abuse and Neglect In partnership with: The Nursing Administration and the Health Ministry, Department for the Prevention of Domestic Violence Goal: The training program aims at raising awareness of the focal role of the nurse in detecting and treating maltreated children, and integrating the subject into the nursing school programs, in order to raise awareness among future nurses. Additionally, a one-day seminar was held to impart practical know-how in the field, and exposure to the needed procedures the nurse must take if there is suspicion of abuse or neglect. Target Population: Nursing School directors, Child Nursing coordinators and head nurses in the health network (hospitals, communities, nursing administration, health departments, etc.). Number of Sessions: 2 sessions for nursing school directors and child-nursing coor– dinators, and a one-day seminar.

Participants: 50

Location: Training sessions in Petach Tikva and one-day seminar at the Haruv Children's Campus.

Budget: NIS 20,000

One-Day Seminar for Nursing School Students at Wolfson Hospital, for Academicis on the Career Change Track Goal: To provide nursing students with tools to help identify child victims of abuse within the framework of their work as nurses. Target Population: Nursing students, academic career change track.
