INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AND ACTIVITIES

The Israeli Delegation from Jerusalem to Puglia, Italy – February 2017 Within the framework of expanding the Haruv Institute’s international activities, a delegation of five social workers and two representatives of the Haruv Institute was sent to the Puglia region in southern Italy, in February 2017, on a reciprocal visit. The social workers come from the welfare services of the Jerusalem municipality and specialize in the Youth Care & Supervision Law. The Fondazione E. Zancan Institute of Padua partnered with the Haruv Institute. During the course of the visit, a regional conference was held under the auspices of the Bari University, which focused on issues of guarding the rights of child victims of abuse. Additionally, the delegation had study tours of a variety of services and heard lectures from professionals treating child victims of abuse and neglect.

Children-at-risk: A Joint Course, Israel-Germany, March 2017 Goal: To facilitate mutual learning and enrichment via a comparative perspective of the welfare systems of the two countries, especially the services provided for child victims of maltreatment. Target Population: Students doing their Master’s Degree in Social Work, at the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work, the Hebrew University, Jerusalem and the School of Social Work at the Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. Number of Sessions and Location: The course was held for one week in Israel and one week in Germany.
