TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR THE STRONG COMMUNITIES PROJECT, HAIFA

Goal: Enrich knowledge and provide skills to take a family-empowering approach in discussion with parents and children; provide skills to manage and treat suspected abuse casesw ith child, family and community authorities. Target Population: 360°– The National Program for Children and Youth at Risk steering committee members in Halisa neighborhood, Haifa Welfare Bureau staff, and Abd el-Rahman School teachers

Number of Sessions: Total of 5: 3 for steering committee members, 1 for Haifa Welfare Bureau staff, 1 for Abd el-Rahman School teachers Number of Participants: Total of 90: 30 steering committee members of various professions (education, welfare, health), 40 Welfare Bureau staff members and 20 Abd el-Rahman School teachers

Budget: ILS 20,000

Study Day for English Teaching Staff sponsored by TALMA (Israel Program for Excellence in English) August 21, 2019 Partners: TALMA, The Israel Program for Excellence in English Goal: Provide knowledge on detecting, identifying and accompanying maltreated children; provide skills for discussion and initial intervention in cases of abuse, and enhance sense of professional capability in teachers who fill the role of significant adult for maltreated children. Target Population: School English teachers from abroad on a one-year volunteer program
