Study Day: Trauma - Abuse in the Shadow of Disability December 17, 2019
Partners: SHEKEL NGO Goal: Raise awareness in the general public and particularly among professionals, regarding children and youth with disabilities who are victims of abuse and neglect. The seminar presented research findings on the extent of this phenomenon, and delivered lectures on how trauma effects the development of a child's brain. Healthy sexuality and protection in disabled populations was addressed, as well as the significance of trauma-oriented services for people with disabilities. Target Population: Professionals from the southern region who work with disabled and maltreated children, and their parents
