Training Program for AJEEC NISPED May - October 2021 Partner: Arab Jewish Center for Empowerment, Equality and Cooperation Negev Institute for Strategies of Peace and Economic Development Objective: developing awareness to the phenomenon of child maltreatment in the Arab society, implications and prevalence in Israel, familiarity with mandatory reporting and addressing resistance, particularly in the Arab society. A training for imams was held in recognition of the importance of promoting awareness among clergy, so that they may detect, identify and report, perhaps even prevent. The program included three trainings: a seminar for Shabibat AJEEC youth coordinators, training community service year coordinators, imam training. Target audience: youth coordinators Shabibat AJEEC, community service coordinators, Southern region imam forum

Sessions: 4: 2 for imams, 1 for community coordinators and one for youth coordinators

Participants: 82: youth coordinators 25, community coordinators 30, imams 26

Venue: Kasem Community Center, Beit Maiersdorf at Hebrew University and online

Budget: 28,000 ILS
