Goshen

The Goshen non-profit organization was founded by pediatricians to promote the optimal health, development and wellbeing of children. The organization directs its work to advance the abilities of professionals to meet children’s health needs; increase the use of knowledge, information and research-based practices; promote public policies to provide optimal, comprehensive and multi-disciplinary services; initiate and run community programs that promote the organization’s goals. We operate in cooperation with community and third sector services and organizations, while forming connections between the health system and the education and social system. The organization’s beating heart: 1. Implementing a broad model for community pediatrics by affecting policy; training specialists and pediatric residents to address parental and children needs in various fields; creating interprofessional relationships between pediatricians and other professionals; encouraging pediatrician-led community initiatives, and more. 2. Making evidence-based knowledge accessible to parents: ‘How you’ve grown!’ is an online evidence-based information center that aims to provide comprehensive and accessible knowledge to parents and professionals working with children. The website contains hundreds of articles and videos, available in Hebrew and Arabic. 3. Training Tipat Halav professionals: We implement a model for parental collaboration (based on the FPM – Family Partnership Model) in the Tipat Halav (Well-Child Care) centers, at all service levels, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the health maintenance organizations, philanthropic foundations, the Jerusalem and Tel Aviv municipalities and Lotem Medical Services. The program involves implementing the model’s principles into the work routine and into organizational and training processes; promoting internal systems and channels for preserving, developing and expanding the model’s use in the long term; offering parents content about development, parenting and parental wellbeing.
