The story of Gizela - Afik Shiraz. Abinun Shmuel

Gizela Abinun (born Altarac) was born in Vishegrad, Yugoslavia, in 1927 and experienced the horrors of World War II with her family. The story of Gizela tells her life story as a child in the picturesque town, located on the banks of the famous Drina River, through the frequent escapes with her family, which ended in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, until its liberation, later known as the "Lost Train," and the life she built after the war. It is a story about the Holocaust and its rebirth, which is told through the story of one woman who maintained a human image and a mutual guarantee despite the severe losses she experienced. Thanks to the narrator's extraordinary memory, "The Story of Gizela" is not only a memorial candle for her dear perished family during the war, but also an opportunity to become acquainted with the lesser known story of the Yugoslavian community before and during the Holocaust.
