Discrimination and Abuse in Businesses by Region The rates of reports from the Tel Aviv Metropolitan area (51%) regarding discrimination and abuse in businesses are the highest, accounting for about half of all discrimination reports regarding the receipt of rRq{ZNRrŬ 1YR qRnfquƆr ’dPZdXr PRcfdruqEuR uYEu PRrnZuR uYZr PZruqZNu MRZdX nRqNRZ{RP Er cfqR ufbRqEdu EdP inclusive of the LGBTQ community, there are quite a few cases of discrimination and abuse. Moreover, the 2022 data presented does not include later developments in the discourse on the discrimination law, which threatens the community. Community Coping In the past year, we have worked in various domains with state institutions and private organizations associated with community members who reported maltreatment from them. 1. Gay community organizations manage advocacy and government relations working with government ministries, Knesset members, and decision-makers to promote legislation, policies, and procedures for the equality and inclusion of LGBTQ individuals in all government ministries and authorities. 2. The LGBTQ Aguda Task Force operates a legal aid system providing community members free legal EP{ZNR Zd {EqZfvr ’RbPrŬ d EPPZuZfdŧ uYR XvPE |fqar |ZuY uYR EbEZż.frRd ƣ fŬ P{fNEuRrŧ |YZNY ErrZrur Zd legal cases related to individuals on the transgender spectrum. 3. The Aguda operates the “Tav HaGe’eh,” the gay seal for businesses that support the gay community and EP{fNEuR RpvEbZu~Ŭ 1YR rREb EZcr uf ruqRdXuYRd uYR XE~ NfccvdZu~ Er E rZXdZ’NEdu NfdrvcRq EdP RrrRduZEb part of society. 4. The LGBTQ Aguda Task Force, together with Hoshen, distributes “safe space” stickers to private and public NEqRXZ{Rqrŧ YREbuY NbZdZNrŧ EdP NbRqar Zd {EqZfvr fW’NRrŧ bRZrvqRŧ EdP RduRquEZdcRdu EqRdEr |Yf PRNbEqR uYRZq space as safe and inclusive concerning sexual orientation and/or gender identity and without judgment.
