Professional Conferences and Seminars

The Israel Cancer Association partakes in organizing dozens of conferences and seminars across the country throughout the year. Volunteers from the ICA branches man the information booths during these conferences and seminars. Annual Conference of the Israeli Society for Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy In March, the Israeli Society for Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy (ISCORT) held its annual conference at the Dan Hotel in Eilat. The conference dealt with updates in every area, as well as the multidisciplinary treatment approach. Moshe Bar Haim , ICA Director General, congratulated the conference participants and gave the ICA Awards to 2 outstanding residents: Dr. Walid Kian and Dr. Ahmad Hativ .

The Israeli Society for Cancer Research (ISCR) Conference In May, Bar Ilan University held the Israeli Society for Cancer Research (ISCR), which dealt with discoveries that shape cancer molecular data and clinical treatment: cancer research technologies, oncology immunotherapy and immunology treatments, cancer genetics and epigenetics, micro-environment of cancer tumors and metastases, and digital biological systems for cancer research. The ICA supported the arrival of two international experts who lectured at the conference: Prof. George Coukos , Prof. Janine Erler . 18th Annual Conference for Cancer Prevention by Clalit Health Services In May, the 18th Annual Conference for Cancer Morbidity and Mortality Prevention was held in memory of Dr. Erika Harel OBM, with the ICA’s support. This year, the conference dealt with cervical cancer prevention. Dana Frost , ICA Public Information, Prevention and Health Promotion Director, participate don behalf of the ICA. World No Tobacco Day Conference As part of its activity in the coalition of organizations working to prevent smoking, a webinar was held on ‘Smoking – A Threat to us and Our Environment’. The webinar was led by Dana Frost, ICA Public Information, Prevention and Health Promotion Director Dr. Milka Dunchin , Chairperson of Israel Healthy Cities Network. The Annual Conference of the Israeli Society of Surgical Oncology In May, the annual conference of the Israeli Society of Surgical Oncology took place at Dan Carmel in Haifa. ICA Director General Moshe Bar Haim congratulated the participants of the conference, which dealt with the future of surgical oncology. The ICA gave two awards at the conference for outstanding poster to Dr. Yael Wexler

The 32nd Annual Conference of the Israeli Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (ISPHO) In April, the 32nd annual conference of the Israeli Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (ISPHO) took place at the Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital at Rambam Medical Campus. The ICA supported the invitation of Dr. Monika Metzger who lectured at the conference.
