and Dr. Jonathan Hammerschlag , as well as assisted in funding guest lecturer Prof. Angelica Michael D . from the U.S. The 32nd Annual Israeli Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (ISPHO) In May, the Israeli Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (ISPHO) took place at Pastoral Hotel in Kfar Blum. Dr. Shifra Ash , Head of the Pediatric Hemato-oncology gave the opening speech. The ICA gave six awards to outstanding residents: • Dr. Halila Aya , Soroka Medical Center • Dr. Ronit Raz , Dana-Dwek Children’s Hospital, Sourasky Medical Center • Dr. Noa Grinberg , the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital, Sheba Medical Center • Dr. Victor Kagan , Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital, Rambam Medical Campus • Dr. Muhammed Abu-Saud , Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center • Dr. Michal Dvori Halak , Schneider Children’s Hospital, And supported the attendance of two international experts, Prof. Antony Chen and Dr. Kenneth McClain . The Israeli Society of Nursing Oncology In June, the annual Israeli Society of Psycho-oncology conference for promoting psycho-oncology was held at the exhibitions grounds in Tel Aviv. Like every year, ICA Director General Moshe Bar Haim gave outstanding awards to four oncology nurses: • Service development award to Ruth Elkayam from Sheba Medical Center • Service development award to Liana Litman from Maccabi Health Services Home Hospice Care • Excellence in Nursing Oncology award to Liana Diamand from Rambam Medical Campus • Excellence in Nursing Oncology award to Michal (Miki) Kovalio from Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center Like every year, participants showed interest in the
ICA stand featured at the conference with updated information material. The ICA serves as a welcoming home to oncology nurses from its inception. The association holds nursing meetings, seminars and workshops, interest groups, funding nursing posts and projects, research grants in nursing oncology, continuing education
and conferences abroad and more. The 56th Spring Conference of the Ophthalmic Oncology Group
In July, the annual conference of the European Ophthalmic Oncology Group was held in order to present innovative treatment methods and discuss research plans and collaborations in the field. The conference hosted representatives in academia, ophthalmology and research labs from across Europe, as well as from developing countries. The ICA participated in funding the conference. Supplementary Training in Medical Information and Registration - Colorectal Cancer In November, a seminar was held at Beir Mati, the ICA headquarters, by the Israel Center for Disease Control (ICDC), the National Cancer Registry, the Department of Training and Development and the Department of Information and Medical Registry at the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the ICA. The conference hosted about 80 registrars from oncology, hematology and pathology units, in order to enrich them on the topic of colorectal cancer: epidemiology, prevention, early detection, pathology and surgical treatment.
