Early Detection Projects and Research Grants:

The ICA encourages the submission of proposals for early detection projects or research grants. The ICA Prevention and Early Detection Committee, headed by Prof. Lital Keinan-Boker , approved funding this year for projects by the following researchers: Dr. Debbie Anaby , Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer – 'Classification of overlooked or misinterpreted sub centimeter breast lesions by Ultrafast MRI.' Scientific Publications of ICA-funded Research Prof. Yaron Orenstein , Bar Ilan University.

Research topic: 'Discovering enriched G-quadruplex structures in cancer-associated genetic variants in vivo.' The research aims to develop a deep learning-based method, which is a type of artificial intelligence, that will enable the prediction of G4s formation in cancer cells. By training the model on genomic data and incorporating additional cellular features, we aspire to accurately identify regions in the genome where G4s are expected to form. In the second part of the research, we will analyze known genetic changes related to cancer and evaluate their impact on G4s formation.
