It dramatically improves yield, cost-efficiency and scalability and is relevant for any microalgae application. Our first product is a spirulina biofilm-based alternative protein ingredient for food manufactures. The market of alternative protein ingredients is valued at $ 22 Bn and growing at a CAGR of 12 %. The space is changing and growing fast, but food manufacturers have one big problem: protein ingredients cause bad textures and bitter flavors in final products. Our product has a dramatically improved flavor and color compared to standard spirulina and has unique functionality clearly differentiating it from standard protein ingredients such as whey, soy, and pea protein solving a major industry problem. Omaiko’s protein enables food manufacturers to incorporate protein into their products without compromising on texture and flavor. Omaiko was founded in 2022 in Kiryat Shmona, a vibrant Ag-tech and Food-tech region in the north of Israel.
