The training included a discussion about the inter- disciplinary work model of the protection center, in order to increase the number of referrals to the center when necessary and lowering the secondary victimization experienced by minors-victims of crime. The training was focused, comprehensive and multidisciplinary, attended by lawyers from the legal aid department who represent minors in civil procedures, in order to establish a representation network and a pool of lawyers who are specialists in representing minors in Israel. These are the fundamental goals of the training: ‡ Building a professional infrastructure that will train professionals with specialization in representing minors in Israeli courts ‡ Providing a unique multi-disciplinary tool chest for lawyers (old and new) from the legal aid department who represent minors,. ‡ (VWDEOLVKLQJ D SRRO RI ODZ\HUV ZKR VSHFLDOL]H LQ WKH ƉHOG RI UHSUHVHQWLQJ FKLOGUHQ and adolescents. ‡ $VVLPLODWLQJ WKH SURIHVVLRQDO JXLGHOLQHV RI WKH OHJDO DLG GHSDUWPHQW LQWR WKH ƉHOG of representation of minors. The subjects of the training program: Development of the child; the forms of abuse and risk factors; multi-cultural attributes; interfacing the work with welfare agencies; the legal framework; psychiatry of the child and adolescent; representing children in court; children with disabilities; children who lack the support of a family; litigation, interaction, communication with children, and providing tools on how to talk with children.
