Play Therapy: Study Day for Oranim Academic College Students March 14, 2019

Goal: Familiarization with the child abuse phenomenon and mandatory reporting. Professionals treating children emotionally must be able to identify, detect and intervene in cases of suspected child abuse. They must be knowledgeable in the different forms of maltreatment, identifying signs and mandatory reporting, and they must know how to communicate with the child about abuse without compromising an investigation. Target Population: 3rd year social work students at Zefat Academic College

STAFF TRAINING FOR THERAPEUTIC AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND 'A HOME FOR EVERY CHILD' (NGO) TRANSITIONAL HOMES August – February 2020 Partners: 'A Home for Every Child' NGO Background and Goal: Provide staff with theoretical and practical knowledge to work with children at risk, focusing on trauma and sexual abuse, as well as effective intervention methods. In West Jerusalem goals were expanding knowledge of play activities in parent-child sessions, building skills to be applied in treatment sessions, and guiding children at risk. In the transitional homes goal was to provide theoretical and therapeutic knowledge, and practical skills for daily work with children who experienced traumatic events. Additionally, a one-day training program for directors was held at Mishkenot Shaananim Conference Center Target Population: Multi-disciplinary staff from therapeutic after-school programs in East and West Jerusalem; transitional homes staff in Jerusalem and Beer Sheba Number of Sessions: Total of 17: 8 sessions in East and West Jerusalem at after- school programs, 8 sessions in Jerusalem transitional homes and 1 at the Emergency Center in Beer Sheba.
