Collaboration with hospital emergency departments has continued through 2019. This year training programs addressed knowledge of child abuse and neglect manifestations, detection and identification, and the staff's role in detecting maltreated children. Some training programs were long-term, consisting of several sessions, others were one-day study programs. Primary Goal: Increase reporting of maltreated children Partners: Emergency departments at Ha'emek, Ziv, Poriah and Wolfson hospitals Target Population: Doctors, nurses and social workers in pediatric departments

Number of Sessions: 20, continued from 2018

Number of Participants: Total of 290: 100 at Ha'emek, 40 at Ziv, 30 at Poriah and 120 at Wolfson

Location: The hospitals

Budget: ILS 50,000

Study Day for Emergency Department Teams at Sheba Hospital, Tel Hashomer September 11, 2019 Goal: Teach ED team familiarity with the field of maltreated children, and the skills to detect and treat, and increase reporting of suspected abuse or neglect. Target Population: Doctors, nurses, social workers in pediatric departments

Number of Participants: 50

Location: Sheba Hospital, Tel Hashomer
