Post-Doctoral Fellowships

One recipient was selected for the eighth scholarship program for Post Doctorates: Aviv Landau, who attended a one-year internship at the Center for Information Research at Columbia University, New York. He was chosen after a rigorous selection process by an academic committee: Prof. Asher Ben-Arieh, Prof. Anat Zeira, Prof. Ariel Knafo and Prof. Adina Meir. By the end of 2019, most program graduates had already been employed in standard positions at academic institutions in Israel. The Haruv Institute maintains continuous ties with program graduates through Haruv Fellows and supports their research in various ways. At the fellows meeting held in January 2019, in addition to the inspiring social aspect, scholarship recipients presented their research projects and new research partnerships were formed between cross-generational program graduates.

Children's Worlds

The Children's Worlds research is an international project seeking to study different aspects of children’s lives from their subjective viewpoint. In 2018 it was decided to try to also learn about the way in which the general child population perceives the phenomenon of abuse and neglect. Current research aims to examine how children perceive the behavior of responsible adults, when viewed as harmful and abusive. This unique project aspires to pioneer in presenting findings. Data was gathered via structured questionnaires from Jewish and Arab children aged 10 and 12 years

enrolled in Israel elementary schools under Ministry of Education supervision. 2,000 children participated and results will be published in Spring of 2020.
