Youth Sexuality and Gender: LGBT Youth Risk and Welfare October 2020 – January 2021

Partners: The Lafer Center for women and Gender Studies, Hebrew University Objective: LGBT youth cope with unique challenges, social rejection among them. They often find themselves excluded, exposed to various dangers. This course combines issues regarding dangers and welfare in LGBT youth, and discusses topics of protection and resilience, defining risk and its concept among this population. This exposes students from varying fields to at-risk LGBT youth. Target audience: Undergraduate students from different fields at the Hebrew University

Multi-Disciplinary Aspects of the Child Maltreatment Phenomenon October 2020 – January 2021

Objective: Presenting a multi-disciplinary view of the child maltreatment phenomenon, and an in depth examination of the unique and the common in systems involved with abused children and their families in the fields of psycho-social care, education, health and law. Target audience: MA students at Haifa University

The Doctor’s Key Role in Detecting and Caring for Maltreated Children: Knowledge and Practical Skills October 2020 – January 2021 Objective: Teaching medical students knowledge and practical skills to diagnose and treat maltreated children; based upon the probability of encountering abused children in their professional future. Target audience: 2 nd and 3 rd year medical students
