דרך העיניים שלהם: כיצד ילדים תופסים התעללות פיזית ונפשית

לסיכום נראה כי עד כה עיקר הידע על התעללות בילדים נשען על פרספקטיבות של מבוגרים, בעיקר של אנשי מקצוע ממקצועות הבריאות והרווחה. המחקר הנוכחי מדגיש את הצורך לשתף ילדים ולקבל את הפרספקטיבה שלהם על תופעת ההתעללות – במסגרת הניסיון לייצר מדיניות והתערבות מותאמת למה שילדים חווים כפוגעני. יתר על כן, המחקר מלמד כי ילדים הם מקור ידע מהימן וחשוב להבנת התופעה של התעללות בילדים. ממצאי המחקר מדגישים גם את החשיבות של הרחבת העיסוק והשיח הציבורי בתופעת ההתעללות הנפשית – בשדה המחקרי, בשדה הקליני, בשדה החקיקה והפסיקה ובשדה המדיניות.
