In a symphony abundant with musicians and singers Mahler brings back the human voice, saluting Beethoven's Ninth symphony. This colossal symphony is the expression of: Pathos, Humor, Mockery, a light dance tune and fulfilment, and in Mahler's own words: "What has come into being must perish! What perished must rise again! Cease from trembling! Prepare thyself to live!"
