Breaking World Record

For the first time in Israel, the municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa will host a world athletics record breaking, in women's 10k run, as part of Tel Aviv Playtika Marathon.

30 elite women runners from Israel and abroad will take part in an attempt to break the world record of 30:01 minutes set by Agnes Tirop.

Israeli elite runner, Luna Chamtai-Salpeter from Maccabi Tel Aviv Association will compete for the lead. Salpeter has already won a bronze medal at the World Marathon Championships 2022 and is Israel's record holder in marathon race. Her personal best in 10k run is 30:05 minutes. The challenge of breaking the world record, places Tel Aviv Playtika Marathon in line with international sports events and position it as a competitive race for Israeli runners as well as guests from around the world.
