Israel Psycho-Oncology Association The Israel Psycho-Oncology Association, which gathers professionals from the field of oncology, such as social workers, psychologists, etc. in collaboration with the ICA, held an online seminar and a full-day workshop for professionals in the field of psycho-oncology. In June 2022, a seminar was held on the topic ‘the backyard of oncology in Israel – special populations coping with cancer.’ In December 2022, a workshop day was held on the topic ‘ innovative interventions with cancer patients and their families.’ The workshops discussions included therapeutic work with pediatric cancer patients; introduction to ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy); self-compassion as a tool for cultivating well-being and a prerequisite for transformation. Student Training Center Upon commencement of the academic school year, the ICA training center at Beit Mati in Givatayim opened its doors to social work and psychology students. The trainers, ICA Central Region MSW Dana Rechavi-Heller , ICA Palliative Care and Scholarship Recipients MSW Dalia Stern , and Neuro-Psycho-Oncology Rehabilitation Psychologist Dr. Michal Sadeh . The students receive training on how to conduct private sessions with patients. Interest Groups As part of its activities, the Rehabilitation and Support Department holds periodic meetings for nurses who share a common interest in a specific nursing topic, such as palliative care, ostomy and breast health coordinators. The groups are coordinated by RN Livia Kislev , ICA Head Nurse and RN Rina Dikhel , Oncology Nurse and ICA Palliative Care Specialist.
Physiotherapy Society. The training is attended by physiotherapists from all medical services across the country. • Seminar on “Human first – selected topics” for trainees in a post-basic course in nursing oncology – Rambam Medical Campus, led by RN Livia Kislev , ICA Head Nurse. • Seminar on “Human first – selected topics” for trainees in a post-basic course in nursing oncology – Wolfson Medical Campus, led by RN Livia Kislev , ICA Head Nurse. • Seminar for resident physicians in family medicine was held in the ICA Haifa branch, led by RN Livia Kislev , ICA Head Nurse. • Training on “Innovation in Nursing Oncology” designed for nurses who are members of the Israeli Oncology Nursing Society in Givatayim. The purpose of this training is to introduce the world of innovation and entrepreneurship in the health system and in nursing oncology in particular. Led by RN Livia Kislev , ICA Head Nurse. • Online training for nurses working with ostomy patients, led by RN Livia Kislev , ICA Head Nurse and RN Rina Dikhel , clinical expert in palliative care and ostomy field coordinator. Short-Term Trainings Short-term oncology trainings funded by the ICA are provided throughout the year to multi-professional teams at medical centers and healthcare clinics. A training was held for the Technion’s Architecture Dept. ahead of a design project for oncology patients’ hostel. A training day was held for Clalit health service’s Dan Region oncology service coordinators at the Rothschild clinic in Petah Tikvah.
