Summer Grants The Israel Cancer Association continues its summer grant program for medical students at oncology institutes. This year’s recipients were: • Yara Prague , Oncology Unit, Sieff Medical Center, Zefat. • Yossi Ben-David , Oncology Unit, Rambam Medical Campus. • Majed Abu Ria , Outpatient Oncology Unit, Rambam medical Center. • Tal Arussi , Oncology Array, Galilee Medical Center. • Jaoud Dirawi , Oncology Array, Galilee Medical Center. The ICA has also transitioned to cloud backup systems in order to ensure work continuity should physical damage be sustained by the organization's systems. The ICA continuously invests updating software and the operating systems of serves and endpoints. The ICA systems are monitored by a number of information security systems and companies in order to avoid hacking and leakage of confidential information by unauthorized entities. This year, a system upgrade was conducted in order to ensure comprehensive, overall information security on an organization level.
• Mrs. Mariana Perlmutter , Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, for attending a training on: Body composition and metabolism in oncological patients. Held in June 2023 in Alberta, Canada. • SW Ada Gil , social worker and volunteer coordinator, Upper Galilee Hospice, for attending the 18th World Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care, held in January 2023 in Rotterdam, Holland. • Dr. Arin Abu Ramila , Oncology Unit, Shaare Tzedek Medical Center, for attending a rotation in gyno oncology. The training was held in London during 1.4.23 – 30.6.23. Every year, the Israel Cancer Association invests considerable resources on improving access to the information and services that it provides – for patients, survivors, and their families. The ICA IT Support Department, headed by David Moss-Rendell , is responsible for the numerous IT solutions that enable us to realize Each year, the ICA is required to comply with information security standards ISO 27799 and ISO 27001 (Health Service Provider standard). Since 2014, the ICA has passed this testing successfully attesting to proper management and personal medical data confidentiality. This year too, the ICA has successfully passed this Standards Institute audit. During 2022, the ICA IT system was upgraded and suited to the increasing need for digital contact with patients, survivors and the general public.
