Professional Conferences and Seminars

The Israel Cancer Association partakes in organizing dozens of conferences and seminars across the country throughout the year. Volunteers from the ICA branches man the information booths during these conferences and seminars. Supporting Conferences and Guest Lecturers from Abroad • Dr. Elizabeth Half , Head of GI Malignancy Unit ,Familial Cancer Syndromes, Institute of Gastroenterology at Rambam Medical Campus, received support for inviting guest speaker Prof. Matthias Kloor , Senior Scientist, Department of Applied Tumor Biology, University Hospital Heidelberg, in a first of its kind multi-disciplinary conference on Lynch Syndrome in Israel, held at Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv on 20.06.23. • Prof. Pia Raanani , Head of the Hematology Institute, Rabin medical Center, received funding for a guest speaker Dr. Richard Stone to speak at the 1st Soho – Israel Meeting & the 7th International Davidoff Conference held on 3-5.23 at Davidoff Cancer Center in Petach Tikvah. • Prof. Neta Erez , Vice Dean at Tel Aviv University's Faculty of Medicine, received funding for inviting guest speaker prof. Zeev Ronal to speak at a conference held on 4-9.9.23 at the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies in Givat Ram, Jerusalem. • Dr. Orna Steinberg Shemer from the Hematology Oncology Department at Schneider Children’s Medical Center received funding for two guest speakers: Prof. Blanche Alter and Prof. Akiko Shimamura to speak at the Pediatric Hematology-Facing the Future held on 2.3.23 at the Felsenstein Medical Research Center, Rabin Medical Center at Beilinson Campus. • Prof. Irit Ben-Aharon , Director of the Oncology Division at Rambam Health Care Campus, received

funding for inviting a guest speaker from the GI group to speak at the EORTC in Israel. The conference was held on 21.4.23 at Dan Acadia Hotel in Herzliya. • Prof. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro , Head of Director, Cancer Biology Research Center at Tel Aviv University, received funding for inviting guest speaker Prof. Todd R. Golub to speak at the Cancer Biology Research Center held on 10-12.5.23 at Glilion Hotel in Yesod Hama'ala. Annual Conference of the Israeli Society for Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy (ISCORT) In January, the Israeli Society for Clinical Oncology and Radiation Therapy (ISCORT) held its annual conference at the Dan Hotel in Eilat. The conference dealt with updates in every area, as well as non-Melanoma skin cancer. Moshe Bar Haim , ICA Director General, congratulated the conference participants and gave the ICA Awards to 2 outstanding residents: Dr. Gal Strauss and Dr. Walid Shlata. The Annual Conference of the Israeli Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Rambam Medical Campus In May, the annual conference of Pediatric Hemato Oncology (ISPHO) took place at the Ruth Rappaport Children's Hospital at Rambam Medical Campus. Dr. Shifra Ash , Head of the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Array at Rambam Medical Campus, received funding for the invitation of Prof. Veronique Minard and Prof. Stefan Rutkowski who spoke at the conference.

19th Annual Conference for Cancer Prevention by Clalit Health Services

In May, the 19th Annual Conference for Cancer Morbidity and Mortality Prevention was held in memory of Dr. Erika Harel OBM, with the ICA's support. This year, Dr. Michael Turgeman received funding to hold the 19th annual conference named after Dr. Erika Harel
