Israel Cancer Association - Annual Report 2024
Volunteers and Local Fundraising Events Thousands of active ICA volunteers are dispersed throughout the country in some 70 branches, serving as a bridge between the ICA and local communities. The branches serve as a home for cancer patients, survivors, and their families, offering conferences, lectures, activities, and support groups, and making ICA's diverse services accessible according to community needs. Throughout the year, the ICA's dedicated and energetic volunteers initiate numerous activities to promote the health of the entire community and raise awareness of the importance of early detection and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The volunteers keep close contact with municipal authorities, especially education departments, as well as with schools and kindergartens, and conduct health days, outreach activities, and various performances and events whose proceeds are dedicated to the fight against cancer. While the country has been at war for over a year, cancer patients continue to fight their private battle with the disease, and ICA's volunteers, staff, and management are here to lend a hand and assist in every area possible. An integral part of the branch and volunteers' activities is the recruitment of human and financial resources to support, strengthen, and ensure the continuity of ICA's activities. The ICA Branches Department is headed by Shir Buttel-Tzur . Lectures, seminars, conferences and health promotion fairs, with volunteers manning information booths and distributing materials on prevention and early detection.
