Education

The education sector is pivotal for fostering social change to benefit the LGBTQ+ community. It can address the needs of LGBTQ+ youth in all their diversity, create safe spaces in schools, promote openness and acceptance of diverse identities, and equip staff with the tools and knowledge necessary to support the community effectively. Questions examined in the education category 1. Is there an active LGBTQ+ youth group in the municipality? If so, does the city provide financial support for it? 2. How many educational staff in elementary schools and kindergartens have received training from Hoshen/Minad on LGBTQ+ topics? 3. How many educational staff in state schools, from grade 7 and up, have received training from Hoshen/Minad on LGBTQ+ youth? 4. Does the municipality provide the education department staff with knowledge and materials for marking special LGBTQ+ community occasions? 5. How many state schools were workshops held for students in the LGBTQ+ community (conducted by Hoshen, Minad, or another organization)? 6. How many educational staff in religious public education within the municipality have received training on LGBTQ+ topics or have been sent to external training? 7. Is there an LGBTQ+ coordinator in the educational psychology service? 8. Has there been training for educational psychology service staff and academic counselors on issues relevant to LGBTQ+ youth in the past year?
