Noam Colpachi AI as a Personal Learning Guide Abstract

Many students struggle in school not because they lack ability, but because learning materials are not always adapted to their personal pace or level. Teachers also face difficulties, such as large classes and limited time, which make it hard to find the level and support every student individually. As a result, some students feel frustrated or left behind. One possible solution is using artificial intelligence as a personal learning guide. Today, Google already offers AI-based tools that adapt digital textbooks and learning content to the user. These tools can adjust the level of difficulty, give clear examples, and explain topics in different ways until the student understands. From my personal experience using such a tool, the learning process felt clearer and more effective. I was able to understand topics better because the explanations were suited to my level. For teachers, AI can help track student progress and identify common problems, allowing them to focus on what students really need. The goal is not to replace teachers, but to support both students and educators. Practical Insight / Tool A useful idea is using AI to personalize explanations. Instead of reading the same textbook explanation, students can receive examples that match their learning level and style. This makes learning more accessible and less frustrating. Biography I am a middle school student with a strong interest in learning, technology, and education. Through my personal experience with AI-based learning tools, including adaptive learning systems by Google, I have seen how technology can improve understanding and motivation when used correctly. This experience inspired me to think about how AI can support students and teachers in real classrooms. Ethan David Levy Learning That Adapts: Using AI to Teach Every Student Differently One of the biggest challenges in education today is that students do not learn at the same pace or in the same way, yet classrooms often rely on one uniform teaching method. Many students feel left behind, while teachers struggle to give personal attention to every learner due to time limits and large class sizes. As a result, gaps in understanding grow and motivation decreases. This project proposes using artificial intelligence as a personalized learning assistant rather than a replacement for teachers. AI systems can analyze how a student answers questions, identify strengths and weaknesses, and adapt explanations, practice exercises, and feedback to each learner’s needs. For teachers, AI can summarize class progress, highlight students who need extra support, and reduce repetitive tasks such as grading simple assignments. The goal of this idea is not to automate education, but to make learning more human. By using AI to handle routine analysis, teachers gain more time to focus on creativity, discussion, and emotional support, while students receive guidance that matches their individual learning style. My solution: AI can be used to create adaptive practice questions that change difficulty based on student performance, helping learners improve without feeling overwhelmed or bored. My experience: • I participated in the ך ” חידון תנ of Ma’ale Adumim and won first place. • Currently working on 2 English podcasts including a neurologist and a hostage survivor from a plane hijacking for my school’s future podcast station. • I am part of my school’s ceremony team. • I volunteer every summer at עת לאהוב . My video explaining the project. חט״ב דקל וילנאי 22 חזקים יחד
