Paula David has extensive knowledge in trauma-Informed Intervention and in training professionals in this method. The Tulsa professional community is thirsty for NQRZOHGJH LQ WKLV ƉHOG 3DXOD 'DYLG PHW DQG VSRNH ZLWK SURIHVVLRQDOV LQ WKH FRPPXQLW\ DQG OHFWXUHG RQ WKH IROORZLQJ VXEMHFWV LPSOHPHQWLQJ WKH &KLOG 3DUHQW 3V\FKRWKHUDS\ method (CPP), both in Israel and in Tulsa; secondary trauma; how to talk with children about traumatic events; how to teach trauma Informed Intervention. Paula David also visited a detention facility for minors and a residential center for boys. Participants: about 100 professionals, working with maltreated children and their families, and students of Social Work.

Participants’ Feedback: ‡ Excellent feedback was received after the lectures. The professionals felt that the information was relevant and would help them in their work.

During her visit, 3URI =HLUD GHOLYHUHG WZR OHFWXUHV WR SURIHVVLRQDO DXGLHQFHV One lecturediscussed anassessmentof theSafeCareProgram, its implementation in Israel and its relevance for professionals operating this program in Tulsa. The program has been running in Tulsa for several years and has recently been introduced in Israel through the Haruv Institute. Joint deliberations on the SafeCare program’s implementation and challenges in Tulsa and in Israel– both in the actual intervention DQG WKH DVVHVVPHQW RI UHVXOWV ų DUH LPSRUWDQW DQG EHQHƉFLDO WR ERWK JURXSV 3URI =HLUDŶV H[WHQVLYH NQRZOHGJH LQ LQWHUYHQWLRQ SURJUDPV DVVHVVPHQW FRQWULEXWHG WR D general discussion of other intervention methods as well. The second lecture discussed “The passage to maturity and independent living of children who grew up in institutional frameworks or in foster homes”, and was attended by the staff of the Youth Services. $OO DGROHVFHQWV FRSH ZLWK WKH challenges of their passage to adulthood.
