Following the success of this teaching tool, its use has spread to other disciplines as well and also includes social simulations, with emphasis on the communication skills of professionals, especially those who come in contact with maltreated children and their families. 7KH ƉHOG RI VLPXODWLRQ LQFOXGHV D ZLGH YDULHW\ RI WHDFKLQJ DQG DVVHVVPHQW WHFKQLTXHV all of which are based on creating a virtual and controlled environment that facilitates VWUXFWXUHG DQG UHOLDEOH OHDUQLQJ DFFRPSDQLHG E\ GRFXPHQWDWLRQ GHEULHƉQJ DQG JLYLQJ immediate feedback to the trainees. The wide range of simulation methods includes the use of “clients” (actors), enabling the trainee to experience scenarios relevant WR KLV VSHFLƉF SURIHVVLRQDO ZRUOG 7KH XVH RI VRFLDO VLPXODWLRQ KDV EHHQ IRXQG WR EH extremely effective in training professionals in the area of child abuse. 7KH+DUXY ,QVWLWXWH KDV MRLQHG WRJHWKHU ZLWK WKH1DWLRQDO &HQWHU IRU0HGLFDO 6LPXODWLRQ (MSR) to integrate into its training programs the use of this effective, innovative and experiential tool, which provides the trainees with a unique experience. Usually, the Haruv Institute includes professionals in the MSR training sessions: doctors, nurses and lawyers. During the Haruv Institute’s seminars and courses, many students are also exposed to this activity. The Haruv Institute recommends study days at MSR to all the schools of social work in Israel. 7KH VWXG\ GD\ DW 065 FRQVLVWV RI D OHFWXUH RQ WKH VXEMHFW RI FKLOG DEXVH D ZRUNVKRS focusing on a discourse with children on stressful events, and experiencing simulations with actors who stage situations that social workers may encounter in the course of their work with families in which children have been exposed to abuse. Many of the training programs of the Haruv Institute are accompanied by activities at the MSR Center. $&7,9,7< '$<6 )25 678'(176 2) 62&,$/ :25. 7KH DLP RI WKH $FWLYLW\ GD\ LV WR H[SRVH WKH VRFLDO ZRUN VWXGHQWV LQ WKHLU ƉQDO \HDU of the Bachelor’s Degree program, to the substance of the world of maltreated children, and to give them the tools to help detect and cope with this phenomenon. The activities were held at the MSR Center, Tel Hashomer Hospital.
